FAQ

Quick answers to common questions.

How is ROI calculated?

ROI is calculated as (Final Value − Initial Investment) ÷ Initial Investment × 100%. For example, investing $10,000 and receiving $15,000 gives an ROI of 50%.

What is annualized ROI?

Annualized ROI converts a total return into an equivalent yearly rate, making it easy to compare investments held for different periods. It uses the formula: (1 + ROI)^(1/years) − 1.

Does this calculator account for compound interest?

Yes! The Investment Growth mode projects your investment using compound interest with customizable compounding frequency (daily, monthly, quarterly, or annually) and optional regular contributions.

Can I compare multiple investments?

Use the Simple ROI or Annualized ROI modes to calculate returns for different investments separately, then compare the results side by side. Annualized ROI is best for comparing investments with different holding periods.
